TOMOS MOPEDS
Tomos-Koper in Slovenia has been manufacturing since 1954. The initial production was based on a licensing agreement with Steyer-Daimler-Puch defining the production of moped, scooters and motorcycles. Tomos proceeded in developing it's own products,the first of those was a stationary engine commercialized in 1958 followed by outboard engines in 1959, which they became well known for. Then in 1960 they developed their own moped. Over the years they have manufactured components used world wide for outdoor power products, motorcycles and mopeds. Today they are one of the world's largest and most respected manufacturers of quality mopeds.

In 1975 Tomos entered the North American market and today remains the oldest and LARGEST importer/exporter of mopeds in the USA. Tomos Products Inc. operating from Spartenburg, South Carolina has continued to provide a quality moped to dealers and consumers, mostly on the eastern coast of the United States. The term moped originates from a pedal assisted motorized bicycle. North American mopeds are substantially different. Today mopeds are equipped with high/low beam headlights, turn signals, dual mirrors, horns, front and rear drum brakes, and were specifically built to exceed the safety standards set by Transport Canada. With today's traffic congested cities, increasing fuel costs and a more mobile society, mopeds provide and ideal source of transportation for all ages.
